On the register of historic places. Cooksville was established in the 1840s it had a small population and the settlers were from New England and Norway. After the railroad by passed it by the town diminished in numbers and became an official ghost town. It has been known as the city that time forgot and a touch of New England. This town was established before Wisconsin became a state in 1844
